Not always—but extenders can make your setup a lot more flexible.
Many customers run Z-TRAK™ without extenders. But if you’re tight on space or running into clearance issues, they can make a big difference.
You may want extenders if you:
- Need handlebar clearance between multiple bikes
- Are running a tonneau cover and need to push bikes out from under it
- Want to stagger bikes for a tighter, cleaner fit
- Have larger bikes or wide bars that interfere with each other
What extenders do:
- Push the Moto-Chok™ or Bike Chok forward or backward
- Help offset bikes to avoid contact
- Create more usable space in your bed or trailer
Two options:
- Z-TRAK Extender → clips into the rail and adds forward offset
- Moto-Chok Extenders (3"–12") → bolt directly to the chok for a cleaner, tighter setup
Included where it matters:
Our 3 Bike Bundle includes an extender to offset the third bike by default—helping ensure proper spacing right out of the box.
Bottom line:
You don’t need extenders—but if you’re dialing in a multi-bike setup or working around tight clearances, they’re a game changer.
More adjustability. Better fit.
